This page offers information about the HASS concentration offered by the Linguistics section of our department. We also offer a major program and a minor program in linguistics.

The requirements for a Concentration in Linguistics are the following:

Three subjects, which must include:

  • 24.900 (Introduction to Linguistics) (CI-H) or 24.9000 (How Language Works)
  • one subject chosen from 24.901 (Phonology), 24.902 (Syntax), or 24.903 (Semantics)
  • one other subject in linguistics (might include but not limited to the subjects listed above)

As with all HASS concentrations, only HASS classes can fulfill the HASS concentration in linguistics.
